Apple: rumors about the specifications of the iPhone 13

While Apple is going the extra mile with its Apple TV + service, as shown in the trailer for its Invasion series, all eyes are already on the new iPhone. Rumors are indeed rife and Apple fans are starting to imagine the characteristics of the next smartphone top of the line. A few months before its release, the new iteration of the phone is causing a lot of talk. However, with rumors being what they are, it’s important to take the information regarding the iPhone 13 with a grain of salt.

First of all, the name of the device in question is not guaranteed. Indeed, calling the next model of Apple iPhone 13 would induce a design change. However, nothing indicates that this is the path that Apple intends to take. Moreover, if it is indeed an iPhone 13 which is about to be released, 4 models could be offered : as for the iPhone 12, we would find the iPhone 13 mini, the iPhone 13, the iPhone 13 Pro and the iPhone 13 Pro Max.

A design similar to that of the iPhone 12

The design of the iPhone 12 with its straight edges has won over many users. This success would lead Apple to keep the same approach for its 2021 smartphone. On the front of the device, the notch on the front would see its size reduced, this change in no way impacting facial recognition and unlocking.

The iPhone 13 is also expected to be offered in different colors. If all the variations are not yet known, we can imagine that it will be available in space gray and silver. The iPhone and iPhone mini models should offer more eye-catching colors.

On the smartphone screen side, it will still be provided by Samsung and should be OLED. The novelty would come from the refresh rate which should increase to 120 Hz. Just like the previous model, the iPhone 13 will be 5G compatible. To take advantage of the fifth generation network, you will need to equip yourself with a mobile phone plan supporting 5G. Changing your offer for 5G will not be mandatory, however, since your 4G plan will still be supported.

A bigger camera for still impressive shots

The iPhone 13’s camera shouldn’t go through a lot of changes. There should still be two wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle sensors on the iPhone and iPhone mini models. For their part, the iPhone Pro will keep their three sensors with the telephoto lens. However, according to the hallway noises, LiDAR should make its appearance on all models in the range.

The size of the photo module should be larger, in terms of thickness, as the main sensor would be a bit larger. This detail could improve the quality of photos, especially in low light. There are also rumors of the addition of an autofocus for the ultra wide angle.

Inside the belly of the beast: processor, storage and battery

Logically, inside the device we should find the successor to the A14 Bionic processor, namely the A15 engraved in 5 nm. It should therefore offer higher performance to the iPhone 13. Regarding RAM, Apple has still not given figures.

With the democratization of increasingly large files, it is crucial for Apple to offer smartphones with more storage space. As a result, one might expect to see landing 1TB storage spaces on the Pro range.

If there is one point where Apple still has to make progress, it is in the battery life of its phones. Rumors indicate that the brand’s teams would try to increase the battery to extend its lifespan. If the iPhone 13 interests you, take your troubles patiently because you will not know until September 2021.
